FIPRONIL. ALERT EXTENDED TO CHICKEN MEAT
The number of countries where FIPRONIL contaminated eggs have been distributed continues to grow. There are already 17 countries where eggs have been distributed according to the RASFF (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed).
Investigations into meat and even on manure are being carried out to assess the risk and to determine if the meat has been affected by the bad practices of desiccation carried out by a Dutch company. If confirmed, millions of chickens would be euthanized or temporarily removed from their sale to the market, keeping them on a diet, pending the FIPRONIL content to be eliminated.
The VWA (Dutch Food Safety Agency) has published the list of affected egg codes to inform consumers of their non-use.
